Siem Reap is such an amazing little city and I can't stress enough that if you ever get the chance to come here, do!!! The food is amazing, the shopping amazing, the people amazing AND the Khmer massage is to die for.
I've never tried Cambodian food before and now that I have, I just don't understand why it's not popular in the West. It is easily on par with Thai and Vietnamese food.
And the Khmer massage. Wow! They may be little ladies but they sure know how to pummel you! Just what you need after a day hoiking your butt around the temples.
We have been here for 6 days and we have shopped, templed and massaged ourselves crazy here (well actually I've been ill most of the time, but that still hasn't stopped me). I even bought a hammock for $2. Why on earth I bought such a thing when I'm homeless is beyond me, but $2!! ... if anyone wants a hammock, let me know!
But now my friends and I have decided to go our separate ways (sniff) and I am now on my way to the 4000 Islands in Laos, which sounds funny as Laos is landlocked.
