After giving away all my winter clothes to some person in Bhutan I left the country with my 10 kg bag ready for my next warm weather adventure.
I flew into Bangkok and without even a moments hesitation or guide book, jumped onto a bus straight to the train station and secured a 2nd class seating ticket for the 16hour journey to Chiang Mai. (After India nothing fazes me anymore!!)
After partying with 6 South African guys on the train (and drinking my first beer in over 6 weeks!!)I arrived into Chiang Mai feeling pretty terrible. I jumped straight into a tuk tuk to meet my Irish friend Vicki who I had met in India a few weeks earlier as we are going to be travelling together for the next 2 weeks.
And as a treat to myself I finally did a load of washing, something that I have not done in over 6 weeks. Even though I have become somewhat an expert in hand washing my smalls, enough is enough. It amazing how the little things in life make me sooo happy.
