After my time in Asia it was a shock to the system coming back into Western society. I felt like a character in the movie Inception and couldn't work out what was and wasn't reality. It was a weird feeling to feel that Oz was not reality. I wonder how I will feel when I return to the UK in a little over 2 months time... If I return...
So after two and a half weeks in Oz (which I said before is basically a sunnier version of Canada/UK) I'm heading back out to SE Asia tonight and I can't wait BUT I have the wackiest itinerary to look forward to:
Overnight on a bench at Sydney airport - 7hrs
Flight Sydney to Perth - 5 hrs
Stopover in Perth - 13 hrs
Flight to Singapore - 5.5 hrs
Stop over in Singapore - 5 hrs
Train Singapore to Butterworth, Malaysia - 14hrs
Ferry Butterworth to Penang, Malaysia - 15 mins
Hurrah!
Don't ask what was going thru my mind when I put this peice of garbage intinerary together! The original itinerary was over 3 days travel time!
So provided everything goes well I should get to my final destination in 2.5 days time! BUT it'll be worth it when I meet up with one of my closest friends Netty and Simon (who should hopefully have a beer waiting for me when I arrive, if they are reading this), where we will be travelling around SE Asia together for the next month. Yay!
