It is with great sadness that I leave Bali after an amazing mnth living and working in a wonderful little fishing community. Darn you Indonesian government for only giving me a one month visa!
Bali was always on the cards when I first planned this trip, but the original idea was to hire a house and spend a month surfing.
I am so glad that I did not do this and opted instead to volunteer for an NGO which aims to teach others about poverty and at the same time aims to alleviate poverty. I got to teach local kids and work on a multitude of media projects.
Besides the relentless heat and humidity (and getting the worst heat rash ever) it has been an absolute pleasure teaching local kids.
I honestly felt apart of the community and feel I have made some life long friends And more importantly I feel I actually got used to the heat! Never in a million years did I think I'd say that. I actually thought I was melting away.
So with that I shall end by saying Goodbye and terimah kasih Bali! It was fun!
